PUZZLE PLATFORM
STEELWORK MEZZANINE DESIGN FOR GAMES SPACE IN BELFAST FOR RAPID7.
SCOPE: CONCEPT DESIGN, CO-ORDINATION & DELIVERY
SECTOR: CYBER SECURITY TECHNOLOGY
CLIENT: RAPID7 - WORKING WITH SPACE
Whilst working as part of the detail and build construction team (with SPACE) for Rapid7’s Belfast office fit-out, our client felt that the design for the Games space needed something extra! The double-height space had not been utilised in the inital concept design and the desire for a more industrial feel suggested, to relate back to Belfast’s ship building heritage.
Working closely alongside the client, we developed our multi-purpose mezzanine structure design which was nicknamed ‘The Puzzle Platform’ due to one of its uses being for a dedicated boardgames space (both the up and downstairs areas.)
The platform is also located adjacent to the training room and an adjoining door was added to easily allow for breakout straight into the ground floor of the platform for refreshments or smaller group activities.
Alongside steel fabricators (BM Steel) to create the structural drawings and manufacturing we adjusted the design to suit site dimensions and conditions and produced a striking industrial style mezzanine that is now being utilised by Rapid7 engineering teams in their new office.
(All rights and ownership of this design are by SPACE)
